ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (1-3) women's tennis team won its first match of 2021 with an 8-1 win over SUNY Geneseo Wednesday afternoon from the RIT Tennis Courts.
RIT swept all three points from the Knights in doubles competition. At first doubles, the team of Clair Casalnova and
Abby Murray (Erie, PA/McDowell) were 8-4 winners over Natalia Krol and Alex Galle. Kirsten Zablonski and
Jackie Drozd (Richboro, PA/The Hun School) were 8-3 winners over Julianna Schulz and Grace Klomp at second doubles, while the team of
Annie Steinbrink (Ambler, PA/Upper Dublin) and
Kirsten Auble (Portland, OR/Sunset) won 8-2 over Dana Sorrentino and Rory Tobin at third doubles.
Casalonova, Zablobski, Auble, Murray and Drozd were each straight-set winners in singles competition.
RIT is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 17 when the Tigers host Liberty League rival William Smith College.
