ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (1-12-0, 1-12-0 CHA) women's hockey team lost at home to Robert Morris University (11-5-1, 11-5-1 CHA), 5-3, in CHA action from the Gene Polisseni Center Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- Robert Morris built a 3-0 lead on goals from Gillian Thompson, Allyson Gebert and Anna Fairman.
- Thompson gave the Colonials a 1-0 lead on her goal from the point at 9:35 of the first period, while Hebert gave made it 2-0 Colonials on her goal :15 after Thompson's goal.
- Fairman gave Robert Morris a 3-0 lead on her goal at 13:49 of the second period.
- Sophomore forward Christa Stefanopoulos (Pierrefonds, Quebec/Dawson College) cut the Robert Morris lead to 3-1 on her goal at 14:55 of the second period on assists from Hana Solinger (Chatsworth, Ontario/Cambridge Rivulettes) and Ellie Larsen.
- Junior forward Abby Davies (Ashton, Ontario/Ottawa Lady Senators) made the score 3-2 on her goal off an assist from senior forward Tori Haywood (Pickering, Ontario/St. Mary's Catholic) at 16:45 of the second. Haywood skated in 2-v-1 with Davies, finding the junior open in front of the Colonials net. Davies made a move around Robert Morris goaltender Raygan Kirk for her first goal of the season.
- Michaela Boyle gave Robert Morris a 4-2 lead on her goal at 13:09 of the third period.
- Haywood cut the Robert Morris lead to 4-3 lead on her unassisted goal at 17:47 of the third. She intercepted a pass in the neutral zone and skated in and beat Kirk with a shot into the top-right corner.
- Maggy Burbridge tallied an empty-net goal at 18:39 of the third to make it a 5-3 final.
GAME NOTES
- RIT scored one power play goal in four opportunities, while Robert Morris went scoreless on three power play chances.
- Taylor Liotta (Mississauga, Ontario/Oakville Hornets) took the loss in net for RIT, making 22 saves. Senior Jessi O'Leary (Woodstock, New Brunswick/Notre Dame Hounds) made 14 saves in relief for the Tigers.
- Shots were 41-20 in favor of Robert Morris
- RIT took three penalties for six minutes, while Robert Morris took four penalties for eight minutes.
- Raygan Kirk picked up the win in net, making 12 saves.
