STATE COLLEGE, PA -- The RIT (1-11-0, 1-11-0) women's hockey team was defeated 7-1 at No. 8 Penn State University (13-1-2, 13-1-2 CHA) in CHA action from the Pegula Ice Arena Wednesday afternoon.
Shots on goal were 44-20 in favor of Penn State. The Tigers took three penalties for six minutes, while the Nittany Lions took five penalties for 10 minutes. RIT went 1-for-5 on the power play, and Penn State went 1-for-3 with the extra skater.Â

Tori Haywood (Pickering, Ontario/St. Mary's Catholic) scored for the Tigers, with junior
Madison Itagaki (Glenview, Ill./Chicago Mission) and senior
Jordan Marchese (Mississauga, Ontario/Brampton Canadettes) each handing out an assist. Senior
Jessi O'Leary (Woodstock, New Brunswick/Notre Dame Hounds) took the loss in net for the Tigers, making 16 saves. Sophomore
Taylor Liotta (Mississauga, Ontario/Oakville Hornets) made 13 saves in relief, while freshman
Emma Stephen (Sherwood Park, Alberta) made eight saves in the third period.
Natalie Heising led Penn State with four points and two goals, while Kiara Zanon tallied five assists. Josie Bothun got the win in net for the Nittany Lions making 13 saves.
RIT returns to action on Friday, Feb. 12, against CHA. foe Robert Morris University at 7 p.m. from the Gene Polisseni Center.
