Taylor Liotta made 17 saves in relief and held the No. 3 Gophers to just one goal in the last 17:30 after Minnesota registered goals in each period for a 10-0 final, Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Minnesota's Taylor Heise got the game's first goal shorthanded that proved to be the game winner with 6:50 remaining in the opening period as the Gophers finished the first with a four-goal lead.
- Minnesota added three more goals in the second period to extend their lead to seven.
- Minnesota struck quickly in the third with a pair of goals 17 seconds apart in the first 90 seconds. Heise capped off the scoring for her third goal and fifth point of the contest with 2:18 left.
GAME NOTES
- RIT finished with 49 team saves after freshman starting goaltender Sarah Coe registered 32.
- The Tigers set a season single-game high with 28 blocks.
- Four RIT players had a pair of shots each by sophomore forwards Chloe McNeil and Lindsay Maloney, freshman forward Jordyn Bear and junior forward Hana Solinger.
