Katie Hobler totaled a match-high 21 kills while senior outside hitter
Taylor Higgins was credited with 15 kills and 16 digs as the Tigers came back to win a 3-2 (18-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-23, 15-11) victory over visiting St. John Fisher, Friday, on the first night of the RIT Invitational.
MATCH NOTES
- RIT (18-2) extended its unbeaten streak to 10 matches while snapping the Cardinals' (16-4) 13-match win streak.
- Freshman setter Sydney Neff notched 52 assists to go along with 12 digs.
- Senior middle blocker Calista Gasper and freshman middle blocker Cat Vento each finished with five blocked shots, including three solos by Gasper.
- Senior libero Kiana Walker finished with a match-high 25 digs.
- RIT improved to 2-0 in five-set matches this fall, including a 3-2 (25-17, 25-22, 22-25 22-25, 15-13) victory over visiting Clarkson (Sept. 24).
- Hobler, Higgins and Walker were honored during a pregame Senior Day ceremony.
WHAT'S NEXT
RIT hosts Nazareth (11:00 a.m.) and Medaille (3:00 p.m.) on Saturday (Oct. 16.). Medaille and Nazareth will also square off at 1:00 p.m. at Clark Gymnasium.
