Women's hockey loses at Robert Morris

PITTSBURGH, PA -- The RIT (1-7-0, 1-7-0 CHA) women's hockey team was defeated 5-0 at Robert Morris University (8-2-1, 8-2-1 CHA) in CHA action from Clearview Arena Friday afternoon.

Shots were 44-22 in favor of Robert Morris. The Tigers took four penalties for eight minutes, and the Colonials took three penalties for six minutes. RIT was 0-for-3 on the power play, while Robert Morris was 2-for-4. Freshman goaltender Emma Stephen (Sherwood Park, Alberta) took the loss in net for RIT, making 39 saves. 

Maggie Burbridge led Robert Morris with two goals and three points, and Raygan Kirk picked up the win in net, making 22 saves.

Robert Morris scored once in the first period, three times in the second period, and added a goal in the third.

Senior forward Stella Haberman (Golden Valley, Minn.) had a chance early in the first period with a slap shot that Kirk saved. The Tigers had a flurry in the second period while on the power play. First Years Lindsay Maloney (Lakeville, Minn.) and Emma Roland (Williamsville, N.Y.) each fired shots on target in a flurry in front of the Colonials net. 

These same two teams will play again on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 1:05 p.m.
