ROCHESTER, NY – Six members of the No. 18 RIT Wrestling team earned 2019-20 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III Scholar All-American honors. Seniors Isaiah Ocasio (Vineland, NJ/Vineland), Dempsey King (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford), and Joe Lupisella (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder), sophomore Chris Horton (Athens, PA/Athens Area) and freshmen Austin Lamb (Owego, NY/Tioga) and Nate Osborne (Cicero, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) garnered the prestigious individual accolades. King earns the honor for the third time, while Horton earns his second straight academic honor.
 
In order to be named a Scholar All-American, a wrestler must have a 3.2 grade-point average and competed in the national tournament with a minimum .500 winning percentage or have placed in the top-six at the NCAA Regional Tournament.

King, a 2020 ECWC All-Academic selection, finished the season with an impressive 30-1 record. Ranked sixth at 165 lvs., King won individual titles at Roger Williams, New York State Collegiate, RIT Invitational and at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championship. King, who earned the Tony Wallace Award as Most Outstanding Wrestler at the 2019 RIT Invitational, qualified for the 2020 NCAA Division III Championship for the third straight season, earning national runner-up honors at 165 lbs. last season, qualified for the 2020 event after winning the title at the 2020 NCAA Mideast Regional. King finished with a 108-24 career record. 

Horton, a 2020 ECWC All-Academic selection, finished 2019-20 with a 24-10 record, qualifying for the NCAA Championship for the first time with a third place finish at 133 lbs. at the 2020 NCAA Mideast Regional Championship, defeating Andrew Cota of Hunter College, 12-0 in the third-place match. 

Lamb finished his first season with a 22-8 record, including seven wins coming via pin, while Osborne finished with a 15-7 record with 10 wins coming via pin. Ocasio, a systems engineering major, finished 2019-20 with a 17-12 record, including three wins via pin. Lupisella, an industrial and systems engineering major, finished 20-6, including four wins via pinfall. 

RIT finished 2019-20 with an 8-3 record in dual meets. King, Kaidon Winters (Athens, PA/Athens Area), John Donohue (Smithtown, NY/Hauppauge), Horton and Sam Weinger (Blooming Grove, NY/Washingtonville) each qualified for the NCAA Division III Champion ship.
