ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (6-14, 3-10 Liberty League) men's basketball team was defeated 90-80 by Clarkson University (7-13, 5-8 Liberty League) in Liberty League action from Clark Gymnasium Friday evening.
RIT shot 42.9 percent from the floor on 30-of-70 shooting. The Tigers made 9-of-29 from beyond the arc, and went 11-of-19 from the foul line.
Keegan Ocorr (Fairport, NY/Charles Finney) led RIT with 19 points and three assists.
Kevin Ryan (Rochester, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) tallied a season-high 20 points t go along with nine rebounds, while
Curtis Nesbit (Woodbridge, NJ/Woodbridge) finished with 17 points.
Roburt Welch led Clarkson with 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the floor. Chris Hulbert finished with 20, and Reese Swedburg grabbed 11 rebounds.
The Tigers led briefly in the first half, but trailed 37-33 at the break. Clarkson outscored the Tigers 53-47 in the second half.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 8, when the Tigers host St. Lawrence University from Clark Gymnasium. The Tigers will honor wounded warriors and the Veterans Outreach of Rochester will be taking donations.
