ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT junior forward Jordan Marchese (Mississauga, Ontario/Brampton Canadettes) scored the Tigers' lone goal during Saturday's 1-1 tie opposite visiting Lindenwood in both teams' regular-season finale.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lindenwood opened the scoring 1:48 into the game on a shot from the top of the zone by senior defender Courtney Ganske.
- However, RIT answered 45 seconds later after senior defender Logan Land (Turkey Point, Ontario/Holy Trinity Catholic) took a shot from the left face-off circle that rebounded off the Lion goalie's pads to Marchese in front of a wide-open right post for an easy finish.
- Neither team found the net the rest of the way, including a five-minute overtime period.
GAME NOTES
- RIT senior goalie Terra Lanteigne (Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia/Charles P. Allen) logged 30 saves, including 13 in the third period, for her ninth-consecutive and 17th game of the season with at least 30 saves.
- Lion sophomore goalie Annika Asplundh was credited with 27 saves, including 14 in the second period.
- RIT honored its five seniors in a pre-game ceremony. Land and Lanteigne joined classmates Taylor Baker (Toronto, Ontario/North Toronto Collegiate Institute), Madison Farrand (Potomac, MD/Winston Churchill) and Jade Mancini (Hamilton, Ontario/Bishop Tonnos) in being recognized prior to their final appearance at the Polisseni Center.
