Lindsay Maloney (Lakeville, Minn.) tallied her first collegiate goal as the RIT (0-3-0, 0-3-0 CHA) women's ice hockey team was defeated 5-1 at Mercyhurst University (2-0-0, 2-0-0 CHA) Friday afternoon.
Shots were 38-19 in favor of Mercyhurst. The Tigers went scoreless on seven power play chances, while the Lakers went 2-for-5.
Liliane Perrault led Mercyhurst with two goals. Maloney scored for the Tigers, while
Taylor Sims (Deep River, Ontario/Ottawa Lady Senators) and
Christa Stefanopoulos (Pierrefonds, Quebec/Dawson College) each had an assist.
Jessi O'Leary (Woodstock, New Brunswick/Notre Dame Hounds) took the loss in net for RIT, making 33 saves. Jenna Silvonen got the win for Mercyhurst, making 18 stops.
RIT trailed 2-0 after the first period on goals from Emily Pinto and Megan Korzak. Shots were 14-6 in favor of the Lakers.

Mercyhurst answered with two second-period goals from Perrault and Sarah Nelles to lead 4-1 after two periods. Perrauly added a second goal in the third period to make it a 5-1 final.
