ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The RIT women's hockey team fell to visiting Robert Morris, 6-4, Saturday afternoon in College Hockey America (CHA) action at the Polisseni Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- RIT freshman forward Christa Stefanopoulos (Pierrefonds, Quebec/Dawson College) took a short pass from freshman forward Jaymee Nolan (Dublin, Ontario/London Devilettes) in front of the Robert Morris crease and tipped a shot into the net with 17.3 on the first period clock to put the Tigers on top after the first period.
- The Colonials (12-8-2, 6-2-0 CHA) got on the board six minutes into the second period, before Tiger freshman Rachel Goff (Naperville, IL/Chicago Mission) scored an unassisted goal less than three minutes later to push RIT back into the lead.
- Robert Morris scored three of the next four goals to close the second period with a 4-3 lead. Sophomore forward Abby Davies (Ashton, Ontario/Ottawa Lady Senators) scored RIT's goal during the run.
- The Colonials built a 5-3 edge with a power-play tally 37 seconds into the third period that lasted into the final minute of regulation.
- Junior forward Jordan Marchese (Mississauga, Ontario/Brampton Canadettes) scored a 6-on-5 goal to bring the Tigers within one, 5-4, with 48 seconds left in the game. However Robert Morris sealed the game with an empty-net goal in the closing seconds to seal the win.
GAME NOTES
- Senior goalie Terra Lanteigne (Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia/Charles P. Allen) totaled 31 saves in the loss.
- Robert Morris ended the game with a 37-22 shooting advantage.
- Davies' goal was her seventh of the season and team-leading 17th point this winter.

RIT (9-11-2, 2-6-0 CHA) hits the road for two CHA games at Lindenwood next Friday and Saturday (Jan. 17-18). Game times are set for 7:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., respectively.
