Game Recap: Women's Hockey |

Women's Ice Hockey earns 2-1 win over Robert Morris

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT senior Terra Lanteigne (Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia/Charles P. Allen) totaled 40 saves while senior forward Jade Mancini (Hamilton, Ontario/Bishop Tonnos) and sophomore forward Hunter Barnett (Caledon, Ontario/Mississauga Jr. Chiefs) scored a goal apiece to lead the Tigers past visiting Robert Morris, 2-1, in College Hockey America (CHA) play, Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Mancini put RIT on the board with 15:32 left in the first period. Sophomore forward Abby Davies (Ashton, Ontario/Ottawa Lady Senators) shot deflected off the Colonial goalie's pads, but Mancini tapped a short rebound inside the left post.
  • The Tigers took a 2-0 lead with 13:33 left in the second. Barnett took a Davies feed in the slot and scored inside the left post to complete a right-wing rush.
  • Robert Morris (11-8-2, 5-2-0 CHA) got one back with 17:43 left in the third period after sophomore forward Courtney Kollman skated the length of the ice and snapped a wrist shot into the top-right corner.

GAME NOTES

  • Lanteigne logged her third game of the season with at least 40 saves. She made a season-high 44 saves in a 3-0 loss to visiting St. Cloud State (Oct. 12) before logging 42 saves in a 6-0 loss at Mercyhurst six days later.
  • Robert Morris finished with a 41-17 shot advantage.
  • Davies added to her team-leading point total (16), including 10 assists that also lead the Tigers.

WHAT'S NEXT

RIT hosts Robert Morris on Saturday (Jan. 11) at 12:00 p.m. to complete the CHA doubleheader.
