LOUISVILLE, KY -- The No. 15 RIT (3-1) wrestling team began competition at the 2020 NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals Friday from Exhibit Hall. The Tigers began with a 34-10 win over Washington and Jefferson, but were defeated 38-3 to Loras College in match two. The Tigers rebounded with a 22-21 win over Heidelberg College, and lost 32-18 to Mount Union.

Against Washington and Jefferson, Chris Horton (Athens, PA/Athens Area) picked up a win at 133 lbs., pinning Anastasi Nelson at 1:47. Isaiah Ocasio (Vineland, NJ/Vineland) defeated Daniel Florentino, 3-2 at 141 lbs., while Austin Lamb (Owego, NY/Tioga) got the win at 157 lbs., defeating Lawrence Schrott, 10-4. Kaidon Winters (Athens, PA/Athens Area) beat Jared Walker, 5-2 at 165 lbs., and Dempsey King (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) pinned Hunter Neely at 4:16 at 174 bs. John Donohue (Smithtown, NY/Hauppauge) picked up a 9-0 major decision win over Jaden Datz at 194 lbs, and Colby Groux was a 7-4 winner over Alex Donahue at 197. Sam Weinger (Blooming Grove, NY/Washingtonville) capped off the Tigers win with a pin of Jacob Walker at 1:35 at 285 lbs.

Versus Loras, Weinger won RIT's lone match, defeating Slade Sifuentes, 7-0.

Heidelburg jumped out to a 16-0 lead before Austin Lamb (Owego, NY/Tioga) got the Tigers on the scoreboard with his 5-3 win over Richard Bogetich at 157 lbs. Winters pinned Devin Miller at 4:38 at 165 lbs. to make the score 16-9 Heidelberg. King was an 8-2 winner over Jeremiah Slagle at 174 lbs. Colby Giroux (Richmond, VT/Mount Mansfield) was 3-1 winnner over Da'veon Parker at 197 lbs. and Weinger improved to 3-0 on the day with a pin of Blake Jerome at 3:20 at 285 lbs.

Against Mount Union, Winters, Dempsey, Giroux and Donohue were winners for the Tigers.
