Box Score ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT women's tennis team (8-3) won five of six singles and all three doubles matches to defeat Oneonta State (15-7) by a score of 8-1 from the Midtown Athletic Club on Saturday.
RIT controlled the match from the very beginning in doubles play. The first double team of
Anne Taylor (Beaver, PA/Beaver) and
Kristen Zablonski (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) rolled to a 8-2 win over Julieta Eulau and Olivia Fraser, while RIT's second doubles duo of
Amelia Ying (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) and
Shayna Ginster (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) knocked off Madeline Carswell and Alexandra Dratch to identical score of 8-2.
Claire Casalnova (Mars, PA/Pine Richland) and
Annie Steinbrink (Upper Dublin, PA/Upper Dublin) completed the doubles sweep, 8-0 over Rebecca Macdonald and Giovanna Buccina.
RIT continued their triumph over Oneonta State by winning five singles matches. Zablonski recorded a 6-0, 6-0 shut out over Alexandra Dratch at fourth singles, while
Kirsten Auble (Portland, OR/Sunset) held her opponent to one game in a 6-1, 6-0.
RIT is back in action on Saturday, April 6 at 12 p.m. at Hamilton College .
