SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY -- The RIT (3-4, 1-3 Liberty League) women's lacrosse team lost 16-10 at No. 24 Skidmore College (5-2, 2-1 Liberty League) in Liberty League action Saturday afternoon.
Shots were 31-26 in favor of Skidmore College. The Thoroughbreds held a 24-20 ground ball edge, while the Tigers won 10 draw controls and went 2-for-5 on free position attempts. 
Alanna Fallone (Penfield, NY/Penfield) led the Tigers with three goals. 
Meghan Donahue (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) tallied two goals and added an assist, and 
Steph Darrell (East Norhtport, NY/St. Anthony's) and 
Krystyna Sterio (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) each scored two goals. Arianna Waldorf took the loss in net, making 11 saves in her first collegiate start.
Cas Szwajkowski led Skidmore with nine goals. Lilla Seymour tallied two goals, and Caroline Kenlon got the win in net for the Thoroughbreds, making nine saves.
Trailing 3-0 in the first half, RIT battled back, scoring three straight goals. The Tigers tied the score at 3-3 on a free-position goal from Darrell. Donahue and Fallone also tallied. Fallone's second goal with 10:19 remaining in the first half tied the score at 5-5.
The Thoroughbreds scored five straight goals to end the half leading 10-5. Szwajkowski scored two of Skidmore's final five goals and finished with five in the half.
Skidmore increased its lead to 11-5 on a free position goal early in the second half. Sterio and Donahue scored consecutive goals for the Tigers, cutting the Thoroughbreds lead to 11-7 on Donahue's goal with 20:01 remaining. The Thoroughbreds answered with two straight goals, increasing its lead to 13-7 on a goal from Emily Hirsch with 14:27 to play.
Fallone, Sterio and 
Camryn Thayer (West Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) each scored for the Tigers, but Skidmore had an answer each time the Tigers scored. Szwajkowski scored two late goals, while Grace Connerty sealed the win for Skidmore with her goal with 3:26 to play.
RIT returns to action on Wednesday, March 27 when the Tigers host SUNY Geneseo at 4 p.m. on RIT's Turf Field.
