Women's lacrosse loses to No. 20 Haverford College

ENGLEWOOD, FL -- The RIT (1-2) women's lacrosse team was defeated 22-8 by No. 20 Haverford College (5-1) Tuesday afternoon in Florida.

Shots were 40-20 in favor of Haverford, while the Fords won the ground ball battle 18-11. The Tigers went 14-of-29 on draw controls, and were 8-of-14 on clearing attempts.

Meghan Donahue (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) and Alanna Fallone (Penfield, NY/Penfield) each scored three goals for the Tigers, while Colette Rigas (Marietta, NY/Marcellus) and Aliya Strong () also scored. Rigas and Fallone each won three draw controls, while Maddi Dillabough (Massena, NY/Massena) had three ground balls. Paulina Goodermote (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) took the loss in net, making eight saves.

Allie Gibbons led Haverford with five goals, and Julie Manetta tallied four goals and added two assists. Amelia Slade got the win in net, making seven saves.

The Fords scored the first five goals of the game, taking a 5-0 lead on Gibbons' goal at the 19:14 mark of the half. Donahue converted a free position attempt with 18:11 remaining in the first half, but Haverford scored four straight, taking a 9-1 lead on Gibbons' third goal of the half. The Fords would score 13 goals in the half, while a pair of goals from Fallone, and one each from Rigas and Donahue would make it 13-5 Haverford at halftime.

Fallone, Strong and Donahue would each score in the second half, while Haverford tacked on nine more goals, including the first seven to go up 20-5.

RIT returns to action on Wednesday, March 13 when the Tigers face Keene State University at 8 p.m. in Englewood, Florida.
