Men's basketball falls to Liberty League co-leader Skidmore College on Senior Day

ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (5-17, 2-13 Liberty League) men's basketball team fell to Skidmore College (15-7, 13-3 Liberty League), 81-59 in Liberty League action from Clark Gym Saturday afternoon. Prior to the game, RIT honored its four member of the Class of 2019 in Marcell Davis (Buffalo, NY/St. Joseph's Institute), Jaymee Rosser (Newark, NY/Newark), Justin Schneider (Aurora, NY/Southern Cayuga) and DJ Walker (Rochester, NY/Irondequoit) as they made their penultimate appearance at Clark Gym.

RIT shot 41.8 percent from the floor on 23-of-55 shooting. The Tigers made 7-of-21 from beyond the arc, and made 6-of-12 from the foul line. Rosser led the Tigers with 10 points and four rebounds. Schneider chipped in nine points, while Davis finished with nine rebounds.

Noah Meren was one of six Thoroughbreds to score in double-figures, finishing with 19 points and five assists. Chase Ta tallied 14 points, while Jack Byrne and Greg Skoric each scored 12 points. Ryan Murnge chipped in 11 points, while Edvinus Rupkus tallied 10 points for Skidmore, who shot 51.7 percent from the floor.

The Tigers kept the game close in the first half, but trailed 47-36 at the break after a late run by the Thoroughbreds. Skidmore outscored RIT 34-23 in the second half to secure the 22-point win.

RIT returns to action on Tuesday, Feb. 12 when the Tigers host Clarkson University at 5 p.m. on the floor of Clark Gymnasium. It will be RIT's final home game of the 2018-19 season.
