ITHACA, NY -- The No. 2 seeded RIT (20-6) women's basketball team advanced to the 2019 Liberty League Championship with a 70-62 win over No. 3 Vassar College (21-6) in the semifinals from Ithaca College Saturday afternoon. It is the fourth straight season the Tigers have advanced to the Liberty League title game. RIT will face host Ithaca College, the top-seed in the title game on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m.
RIT shot 44.6 percent from the floor on 25-of-56 shooting.and were an impressive 18-of-20 from the foul line.
Cori Okada (Fullerton, CA/Troy) led the Tigers with 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting, including 15 points in the second half. She also had three assists, three rebounds and three steals.
Sabrina Wolfe (Troy, NY/Troy) tallied 17 points, while
Alyssa Juergens (Rochester, NY/Hilton) and
Tara Lynch (Green Township, NJ/Newton) each scored 10 points.

Amy Reed. "It's been so much fun to coach this group. We are strong in our identity and keep bringing that to the floor night in and night out. We are looking forward to seeing what's next for us."
Sophie Nick led Vassar with 23 points, while Isa Peczuh tallied 16 points for the Brewers, who shot 54.2 percent from the floor, but committed 26 turnovers that led to 25 Tigers points.
RIT led 14-12 after the first quarter, scoring four straight points to end the stanza leading by two points. Vassar came back and took a 21-20 lead on a 3-pointer from Dani Douglas with 4:23 to play in the half. Okada gave the Tigers the lead back with he layup with 4:01 to play, and the Tigers would maintain that advantage, leading 34-31 at halftime.
The Tigers shot 60.0 percent from the floor in the first half on 12-of-20 shooting. Okada and Wolfe led RIT with 10 points apiece in the first half.
The Brewers took a brief lead early in the third quarter when Peczuh drained a 3-pointer with 5:33 to play. The Tigers ran off nine straight points, taking a 51-43 lead on a pair of Lynch free throws with 3:08 to play. A late jumper from Juergens gave the Tigers a 57-47 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Okada gave the Tigers their largest lead of the game on her jumper with 7:04 to play to give RIT a 62-49 edge.The Brewers got to within six points on a layup from Ryan DeOrio with nine seconds remaining, but RIT made clutch free throws down the stretch to secure the win.
RIT has won 20 games for the third straight season and have now won a program-record 12 straight games. The Tigers will look for their second league title in three seasons tomorrow. The Liberty League Champion will receive an automatic berth into the 2019 NCAA Division III Tournament.
