CANTON, NY -- The RIT (5-0) women's swimming and diving team continued its hot start to the season with a 185-110 win at St. Lawrence University Saturday. With the win, the Tigers have now won 14 straight dual meets.
RIT began the meet with a pool record in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Mililani Rosare (Campbell, CA/Westmont),
Sam Russell (Fredon, NJ/Kittatinny Regional),
KhaVy Sangasy (Brockport, NY/Brockport) and Sydney Gurgard won the race in a record-setting time of 1:52.79.
Phoebe Huey (Fort Collins, CO/Fossil Ridge) was a winner in the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.83) and the 100-yard freestyle (:56.39 seconds). Rosare won the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.06). Russell picked up a win in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.34) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:31.84). Sangasy brought home first place in the 200-yard butterfly (2:19.63) and in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.06).
Burgard was a winner in the 50-yard freestyle (:26.21 seconds).
Elle Holland (East Concord, NY/Springville Griffith) won the 200-yard backstroke (2:16.30) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:16.30).
In diving action,
Ashley McDonald (Rochester, NY/West Irondequoit) was a winner in the 1-meter competition with a score of 185.06.
Anastasia Ueda (Lafayette, CA/Miramonte) won the 3-meter competition with a score of 195.85. McDonald placed second in the 3-meter (184.70).
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 16, when the Tigers host LeMoyne College at 1 p.m.
