Women's volleyball beats Lycoming in three sets Friday evening

WILLIAMSPORT, PA -- The RIT (8-8) women's volleyball team defeated Lycoming College, 3-0 on the first day of competition at the Lycoming Tip-Off Classic. Scores of the match were 25-7, 25-14, 25-17.

Taylor Higgins (Peru, NY/Peru) and Katie Hobler (Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) led the RIT attack, finishing with 11 kills apiece. Hobler led the Tigers with nine digs, while Taylor finished with eight digs and had four service aces. Brianna Ellis (Wayne, PA/Radnor) had 26 assists, and Kelly Waters (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) finished with five kills and two assisted blocks.

RIT returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 5, with a match versus Nazareth College at 12 p.m. and Marywood University at 2 p.m. in Williamsport, PA.
