No. 22 Women's soccer wins 2-1 at Ithaca College

ROCHESTER, NY – The No. 22 RIT (11-3-2, 6-1-1 Liberty League) women's soccer team defeated Ithaca College (9-6-1, 4-4-0 Liberty League) 2-1 in Liberty League action Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the Tigers move back ahead of St. Lawrence into second place in the Liberty League standings.
 
Shots were even at 14-14, while the Tigers fired eight shots on goal to three for the Bombers. RIT took nine corner kicks, and the Bombers took five.
 
Abbey Saia (Monroe, CT/Masuk) scored each of the Tigers goals, while Mia White (Littleton, CO/Rocky Mountain Deaf School) added a pair of assists. Alyssa Salls (Plattsburgh, NY/Plattsburgh) got the win in net for RIT, making three saves.
 
Delaney Rutan scored for Ithaca and Gabriella Mihale had an assist. Sara Jakobsze took the loss in net for the Bombers, making five saves.
 
Saia gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead on her eighth goal of the season in the 15th minute. She curled a corner kick into the far corner of the net to give the Tigers the lead.
 
Rutan tied the score on her goal in the 28th minute when Mihale slid a pass through to Rutan, who made a nice move around a RIT defender and scored for her fifth tally of the season.

After halftime, Saia gave RIT a 2-1 lead on her goal off an assist from White in the 56th minute. White flicked a ball back to Saia who was making the run to the Ithaca net, firing a shot past Jakobsze.
 
RIT wraps up its regular season on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Vassar College at 2 p.m.
