ALFRED, NY -- The RIT men's swimming and diving team picked up its first win of the season with a 182-117 win at Alfred University Saturday afternoon.
RIT began the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Derek Rothrock (Ashburn, VA/Briar Woods),
Brendan Kapp (Springfield, VA/Trinity School),
Cameron Marcus (Jericho, VT/Mount Mansfield), and Nick Genovese won the event in a time of 1:39.66.
Mark Truskinovsky (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville North) was a winner in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.83).
Brendan Kapp (Springfield, VA/Trinity School) won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.32), while Marcus won the 200-yard butterfly (2:01.17).Maxwell Bennett won the 50-yard freestyle (22.61 seconds) and
Michael Burke (Ambler,PA/Upper Dublin) was a winner in the 3-meter diving competition (245.93) and the 1-meter competition (255.53).
RIT returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at SUNY Oswego at 6 p.m.
