ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (0-3-1) women's hockey team was defeated 3-0 by St. Cloud State (2-2-0) University Saturday afternoon from the Gene Polisseni Center.
Shots were 47-24 in favor of St. Cloud State. The Tigers power play was 0-for-2, while the Huskies went 1-for-3 with the man advantage.
Terra Lanteigne (Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia/Charles P. Allen) made a season-high 44 saves in net for the Tigers.
Emma Bigham, Olivia Cvar and Abby Thiessen each scored for St. Cloud State, while Jeniina Nylund had two assists. Janine Adler picked the win in net for the Huskies, making 24 saves.
Bigham gave the Huskies a 1-0 lead at 6:14 of the first period on assists from Janna Haeg and Nylund. Cvar gave the Huskies a 2-0 on her goal 46 seconds into the second period, and Thiessen tallied a a power play at 14:46 of the second period to make it a 3-0 final.
RIT begins play in the CHA on Friday, Oct. 18, at Mercyhurst University at 6 p.m.
