ROCHESTER, NY - Junior goaltender
Terra Lanteigne (Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia/Charles P. Allen) of the RIT women's hockey team was named the College Hockey America Goaltender of the Week on Monday, for the week ending Jan. 6, 2019. It is Lanteigne's fourth weekly honor of the 2018-19 season and seventh overall of her collegiate career.
Lanteigne stopped 57 of 58 shots as RIT began the calendar year by sweeping Brown University in its final two non-conference games of the season. Lanteigne stopped 27 of 28 shots in a 2-1 win on Friday and stopped all 30 shots she faced for her second shutout of the season and fourth of her career in a 2-0 win Saturday.
Lanteigne, who leads all of Division I with 663 saves, has a 2.13 goals against average and is ninth nationally with a .938 save percentage in 21 games this season.
RIT is back in action on home ice at 6 p.m. Friday evening, as CHA rival Syracuse University comes to town.
