ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT women's hockey team kicks off the 2019 calendar year with its final two non-conference games of the season at Brown University on Friday, Jan. 4 and Saturday, Jan. 5. Friday's game starts at 6 p.m., while Saturday's contest begins at 3 p.m.
The Tigers (5-10-4, 3-4-0 CHA) are back in action for the first time in four weeks. After this weekend's games, RIT plays its final 13 games against College Hockey America foes.
Senior assistant captain
Kendall Cornine (Kinnelon, NJ/Morristown Beard), who was selected sixth overall in the 2018 National Women's Hockey League (NWHL) draft by the Metropolitan Riveters on Dec. 19, leads the team in scoring with 13 points on eight goals and five assists.
Brittney Gout (Caledon, Ontario/Brampton Canadettes) has a team-best eight assists and is second with 11 points, while
Ellie Larson (Hutchinson, MN/Hutchinson Tigers) and
Mallory Rushton (Amherst, Nova Scotia/New Hampton Prep) have 10 points apiece. Goaltender
Terra Lanteigne (Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia/Charles P. Allen) leads all of Division I with 606 saves and is 11th with a .934 save percentage. She also has a 2.30 goals against average, while playing in all 17 games.
Brown, a member of the ECAC, enters the weekend series with a 5-7-1 and will be playing for the first time in a month. Sena Hanson leads the team in scoring with nine goals and 12 points in 13 games. Shay Maloney has a team-best seven assists. Calla Isaac and Hayley Kliczko have split time in net. Isaac is 4-3-0 with a 3.41 goals against average and a .911 save percentage, while Kliczko is 1-4-1 with a 4.02 goals against average and an .893 save percentage.
RIT is 9-7-1 all-time against Brown, including a 6-2-0 mark at the Division I level. The two teams last met during the 2015-16 season.
