ROCHESTER, NY - Junior goaltender
Terra Lanteigne (Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia/Charles P. Allen) of the RIT women's hockey team was named the College Hockey America Goaltender of the Week on Monday, for the week ending Jan. 13, 2019. It is Lanteigne's fifth weekly honor of the 2018-19 season and eighth overall of her collegiate career.
Lanteigne stopped 38 of 40 shots as RIT won its third straight game, 4-2 over Syracuse on Friday night. She made 13 saves in the opening period, 12 in the second and 13 more in the third, as RIT moved into a tie for third place in the CHA standings with the win.
Lanteigne, who leads all of Division I with 701 saves, has a 2.12 goals against average and is seventh nationally with a .938 save percentage in 22 games this season.
RIT is back in action on home ice this weekend, as CHA rival Mercyhurst University comes to town. Friday's game from the Gene Polisseni Center begins at 6 p.m., while Saturday's contest starts at 1 p.m.
