No. 22 women's soccer goes on the road and rolls to 4-0 win at SUNY Fredonia

FREDONIA, NY – The No. 22 RIT (4-1-0) women's soccer team shut out SUNY Fredonia (2-4-0), 4-0 in non-conference action from University Stadium Saturday afternoon. 

Shots were 30-2 in favor of the Tigers, as they fired six corner kicks to two for the Blue Devils. Monique Polanco (Merrick, NY/John F. Kennedy), Danielle Losquadro (Merrick, NY/Sanford H. Calhoun), Mia White (Littleton, CO/Rocky Mountain Deaf School) and Kayla Grossman (Sewell, NJ/Learview Regional) each scored for RIT. It was the first collegiate goal for Grossman, while White added an assist. 

Ingrida Ivaska (Gibsonia, PA/Pine-Richland) got the win in net for the Tigers, making one save. Kendall Owczarzak took the loss for Fredonia, making six saves.

It did not take long for RIT to get on the scoreboard, getting a goal from Jones off a free kick in the fifth minute. Losquadro gave RIT a 2-0 lead on her goal in the 22nd minute off an assist from White. White played Losquadro with a nice thru-ball. Losquadro dribbled around Owczarzak to score.

Shots were 12-1 RIT as they lead 2-0 into the intermission.

White gave the Tigers a 3-0 lead on her second goal of the season in the 56th minute with the assist going to Emily Thiel (Seattle, WA/Roosevelt). White broke in behind the Fredonia defense and scored off a nice feed from Thiel. Grossman made it a 4-0 final on her first collegiate goal in the 88th minute, scoring off an assist from Jenna Valleriano (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas).

"We came out and executed a lot of what we were looking to do today," said RIT head coach Liz Masterson. "The team played together and stayed focused on our own goals for the match."

RIT will begin play in the highly competitive Liberty League on Saturday, Sept. 22 when the Tigers host Vassar College at 2 p.m. on the grass at Tiger Stadium.
