Women's lacrosse loses to SUNY Brockport in non-conference action

ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (7-8) women's lacrosse team fell to visiting The College at Brockport (5-7) by a score of 20-9 in non-conference action from RIT's Turf Field Wednesday afternoon.

Shots were 44-26 in favor of Brockport. The Golden Eagles held a 27-19 ground ball advantage and won 17-of-30 draw controls. The Tigers went 11-of-15 on clearing attemtps, and converted just 1-of-5 on free position attempts.

Alanna Fallone (Penfield, NY/Penfield) led the Tigers with three goals, while Emily Livecchi (Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) finished with two goals and two assists. Rebekah Snitkoff (Fairfield, CT/Fairfield Warde) took the loss in net, making 12 saves.

Taylor Thomas led Brockort with five goals, while Sara Grapevine had five points on two goals and three assists. Heather Conklin and Chloe Kurst each finished with three goals. Sarah Brown got the win in net, making 11 saves.

RIT led 2-1 early in the first half on Fallone's free position goal at the 25:27 mark of the first half. The Golden Eagles ran off seven straight goals, taking an 8-2 lead on Conklin's goal with 11:15 remaining. Fallone and Livecchi tacked on goals late in the half for RIT who trailed 11-4 at the break.

Brockport tacked on nine more goals in the second half, while RIT received goals from Colette Rigas (Marietta, NY/Marcellus), Maegan Schmauder (Franklin, MA/Franklin), Megan Donahue, Krystyna Sterio (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) and Fallone to make it a 20-9 final.

RIT returns to action on Tuesday, April 24 when the Tigers face Nazareth College at 4 p.m. in Pittsford, N.Y.
