ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men's tennis team (6-9, 0-6 Liberty League) played its final home match of the 2017-18 season on Tuesday, falling to Liberty League rival Hobart College (10-5, 4-1 Liberty League), 9-0 at the Gordon Field House.

The Statesmen opened the match by taking all three doubles matches and allowed just 11 RIT points in five of the six singles matches. In the final match of the day at fifth singles, Hobart's Patrick Gray and RIT's Patrick Mathews (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) went to three sets. Gray won the first set, 6-3 before Mathews evened the match with a 6-4 victory in set two. Gray would outlast Mathews in the third set, 10-8 and take the match for Hobart.

The Tigers are off this weekend and will wrap up the 2017-18 regular season on Friday, April 27 at Union College and Saturday, April 28 at Bard College.
