Men's basketball loses at St. John Fisher in Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout

PITTSFORD, NY -- The RIT (2-6) men's basketball team was defeated 80-65 at St. John Fisher College (4-2) on day two of the Third Annual Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout. 

RIT trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half, but went on a run late in the half, cutting the Cardinals lead to 30-28 on a 3-pointer by Jayme Rosser with 3:38 remaining, That capped off a 17-4 run by the Tigers. Matt Anderson (Bennington, VT/Mt. Anthony Union) cut the Fisher lead to 33-31 with his 3-pointer at the 2:54 mark of the half. Fisher closed the half on an 8-0 run to lead 41-31 at halftime.

Chuck Okehie (Owings Mills, MD/McDonogh) led the Tigers with 10 first-half points on 3-of-4 shooting from the field. Rosser and Will Atkinson (Orchard Park, NY/Canisius) each had six points for the Tigers who shot 10-of-26 from the floor.

St. John Fisher began the second half on an 11-4 run, taking a 52-35 lead on a Matt Asenjo 3-pointer at the 16:44 mark of the half. Fisher would outscore the Tigers 39-34 in the second half.

RIT shot 21-of-53 from the field, including 9-of-20 from beyond the arc. The Tigers made 14-of-20 from the foul line and had 10 steals. Okehie led RIT with a career-high 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor. Atkinson tallied 12 points, while Rosser added 11 points. 

Sammy Robinson led Fisher with a game-high 24 points, while Brendan Trapper tallied 15 points for the Cardinals who shot 56.9 percent from the floor.
