ROCHESTER, NY - The RIT men's hockey team opens Atlantic Hockey play this weekend, Oct. 26-27 at Robert Morris University. Both Friday and Saturday's contests from Colonials Arena get underway at 7:05 p.m.

RIT (2-1-0) has won two straight games entering its conference opener, including a 6-1 victory over Colgate University in front of a sellout crowd of 10,556 fans at Blue Cross Arena as part of Brick City Homecoming & Family Weekend last Saturday. Erik Brown (Keene, Ontario/Kemptville 73's) tallied his third career hat-trick and tied RIT's Division I team record for career goals (55), while Shawn Cameron (Sherbrooke, Quebec/Cumberland Grads) scored twice. Abbott Girduckis (Belleville, Ontario/Wellington Dukes) handed out a career-high four assists, while Gabe Valeuzuela had a goal and an assist. In net, Logan Drackett (Calgary, Alberta/Calgary Canucks) tied his career-high with 41 saves on 42 shots. RIT's senior class has never lost at Blue Cross Arena, going 3-0-3.

Girduckis leads the team in scoring through three games this season with six points on two goals and four assists. Jake Hamacher (Corona, CA/Dubuque Fighting Saints) has four assists, while Brown has a team-high three goals. Gabe Valenzuela (Brampton, Ontario/North York Rangers) and Adam Brubacher (Elmira, Ontario/Powell River Kings) also have three points apiece. In net, Drackett has played in all three games and has a 2.34 goals against average and a .933 save percentage.

Brown was named the AHA Player of the Week on Tuesday, while Drackett garnered Goalie of the Week honors.

Robert Morris enters the weekend with a 1-2-1 overall record and is 0-1-1 in league play. Last weekend, the Colonials opened up AHA competition by earning one point against Army West Point. Alex Tonge and Justin Addamo are tied for the team lead with four points apiece, as each player has two goals and two assists. Francis Marotte has played all four games in net and has a 3.88 goals against average and an .885 save percentage.

Robert Morris has appeared in three straight AHA Championship games.

RIT leads the all-time series between the two schools, 13-12-4. The Tigers won all four meetings last season by a combined total of 20-10. RIT and Robert Morris will also meet on Feb. 22-23, 2019 from the Gene Polisseni Center.
