GENEVA, NY — The RIT (8-10, 6-5 Liberty League) men's basketball team was defeated 79-50 at Liberty League leader Hobart College (15-3, 10-1 Liberty League) Saturday afternoon.
RIT shot just 25.0 percent from the floor on 16-of-64 shooting. The Tigers went 4-of-17 from behind the arc, and made 14-of-21 from the foul line. Fifteen different Tigers scored, as
Will Atkinson (Orchard Park, NY/Canisius) led the Tigers with six points.
DJ Walker (Rochester, NY/Irondequoit) and
Chase Lewis (Ewing, NJ/Princeton Day School) each scored five points.
Robert Aguilera (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) grabbed seven rebounds.
Colin Dougherty led Hobart with 20 points. Tucker Lescoe tallied 12 points, and Edens Fleurizard chipped in nine points for the Statesmen who shot 49.0 percent from the floor.
RIT trailed 36-16 at half-time. The Tigers shot 17.6 percent in the first half.
Will Atkinson (Orchard Park, NY/Canisius) led RIT with six points off the bench. Lescoe and Dougherty led Hobart with 10 points apiece.
The Tigers never got close in the second half, shooting just 33.3 percent from the floor. Hobart would lead by as many as 34 points.
RIT returns to action on Friday, Feb. 2 when the Tigers host Clarkson University at 8 p.m. on the floor of Clark Gym.
