ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT women's hockey team returns to action with a pair of road games at College Hockey America rival Lindenwood University on Friday, Jan. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 27. Friday's game starts at 7 p.m. EST, while Saturday's contest gets underway at 2 p.m.
RIT looks to get back in the win column after suffering a 4-3 loss in overtime to defending CHA Champion Robert Morris on Saturday.
Kendall Cornine (Kinnelon, NJ/Morristown Beard) scored a goal and added an assist, while
Brittney Gout (Caledon, Ontario/Brampton Canadettes) and
Baylee Trani (Huntington Beach, CA/New England Hockey Club) also scored for RIT. In net,
Terra Lanteigne (Hatchet Lake, Nova Scotia/Charles P. Allen) made 38 saves.
Cornine leads the team in scoring with 14 points on nine goals and five assists, while Gout is right behind with four goals and 11 points.
Mallory Rushton (Amherst, Nova Scotia/New Hampton Prep) has seven assists and 10 points. Lanteigne has made 608 saves this season and has a .913 save percentage.
Lindenwood (6-15-1, 4-8-0 CHA) dropped a pair of games last weekend at CHA foe Mercyhurst by scores of 3-0 and 5-1. Taylor Girard leads the Lady Lions in scoring with 21 points on 12 goals and nine assists. Courtney Ganske has a team-best 14 assists. In net, Jolene deBruyn has played in 20 games and is 5-13-1 with a 3.03 goals against average and a .913 save percentage.
RIT leads the all-time series between the two schools, 10-7-5. This weekend marks the third and fourth regular season meetings between the two schools, as the two teams split a pair of games at the Gene Polisseni Center on Oct. 27-28. RIT won the opener, 4-3, while Lindenwood took game two, 6-0. Cornine and
Tori Haywood (Pickering, Ontario/St. Mary's Catholic) had a goal and an assist in the 4-3 win.
