TROY, NY - The RIT women's tennis team (4-8, 0-5 Liberty League) dropped a Liberty League match on the road at Rensselaer (5-5, 1-3 Liberty League), 8-1 on Sunday morning.

The Engineers won the three doubles matches to begin play. RIT's third doubles team of
Alyssa Hering (Albion, NY/Kendall) and
Maddy Price (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) evened their match against Angelika Rothberg and Jenny Lee, 8-8, before the Rensselaer duo won the tiebreaker, 7-2.

Amelia Ying (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) would win RIT's lone point of the day, winning a stirring three-set match over Tess Lubin at first singles. Lubin would win the first set, 7-5 before Ying evened the match by taking set two, 6-3. Ying would take the tiebreaker, 10-8.

Rensselaer would win the final five singles matches. At sixth singles,
Kayla Llanos (Camillus, NY/West Genesee) made a strong, coming up just short versus Lee, 9-8.
RIT is back in action on Wednesday with a road match at Rochester that begins at 4 p.m.
