ROCHESTER, NY — The RIT women's tennis team (5-11) dropped a 6-3 contest with SUNY Oneonta (13-6) in its final home match of the season at the RIT Tennis Courts on Sunday. The Tigers honored their senior,
Marie Jubert (Fairport, NY/Fairport), before the match.
RIT started out the match with two out of three victories in the singles. The pair of
Amelia Ying (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) and
Diana Kulawiec (Fairport, NY/Fairport) took down Jacqueline Guidice and Alyssa Brault 8-3, and
Alyssa Hering (Albion, NY/Kendall) and Jubert beat Kayla Houle and Samantha Felice 8-0. Oneonta's Alana Green and Faith Haedrich defeated RIT's
Kayla Llanos (Camillus, NY/West Genesee) and
Carmen Navas-Davis (), 8-4, making the score 2-1 RIT after the doubles matches.
Ying also picked up a win in the singles matches, defeating Green, 6-1, 6-2, but the Red Dragons took the other five singles matchups, and came out with a 6-3 victory.
The Tigers will return to action once more in regular season play, as they head to take on Vassar College on Saturday, April 29, at 10:30 a.m.
