Wrestling wins ninth match of season, rolling to decisive victory over Penn Tech

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The RIT wrestling team (9-6) rolled to a decisive 47-4 win over Penn College of Technology (1-11) on Friday evening. RIT's nine wins are now tied for the third most in one season in program history.
 
The Tigers took advantage of three forfeits, a medical forfeit, one pin, and two technical falls for the victory.
 
Andrew Flanagan (Holley, NY/Holley) opened the match with a 10-2 major decision over Ben Doll at 125 lbs. Isaiah Ocasio (Vineland, NJ/Vineland) would lead early in his match at 133 lbs. before his opponent, Chase Andrus had to bow out due to injury. At 141 lbs., Jake Sepor (Stafford, NY/Pavilion) picked up his 22nd win of the season with a 19-2 technical fall over Zach Fitzsimmons.
 
Colby Hall (Deposit, NY/Deposit) would rally late to defeat Joe Swank at 149 lbs., 7-5 to give RIT an 18-0 lead. Three straight forfeits at 157 lbs., 165 lbs., and 174 lbs., made it 36-0.
 
Nicholas Greenquist (Spring Lake, NJ/St. Rose) would win at 184 lbs., by technical fall, 17-0 before Chris St. Denny (Bridgeport, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) recorded a pin at 197 lbs., in 3:14 over Malcom Kane. It was St. Denny's first collegiate victory.
 
Penn would get on the board at 285 lbs. for the lone points of the match.

RIT competes in its final dual meet of the regular season on Saturday at Oneonta State. The meet will get underway at 12 p.m.
