Men's basketball loses to St. John Fisher in Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout

ROCHESTER, NY -- The RIT (4-4) men's basketball team was defeated 81-67 by St. John Fisher College (3-4) on Saturday evening at Clark Gym on day two of the 2nd Annual Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout. RIT's Anthony Lewis (Rochester, NY/Churchville-Chili) was named to the All-Tournament Team, while Jake Haight was named for St. John Fisher.

RIT shot 35.7 percent from the floor on 20-of-56 shooting. The Tigers went just 6-of-25 from beyond the arc, and made 21-of-26 free throws. Lewis led the Tigers with 13 points, and three assists. Troy Pierre-Louis (Providence, RI/Berkshire School) and Robert Aguilera (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) each tallied nin points, while Marcell Davis (Buffalo, NY/St. Joseph's Institute) led the Tigers with eight rebounds.

Sammy Robinson led Fisher with 17 points, while Tyler English finished with 14 points. Michael D'Amico tallied 13 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had five assists for the Cardinals, who shot 47.7 percent from the floor. Haight finished with 10 points off the bench.

RIT held a slight 39-36 rebounding edge, but committed 20 turnovers. Fisher led 49-35 at halftime, while each team scored 32 points in the second half. The Tigers got within 10 points of the Cardinals in the second half, but never could get closer.

RIT returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 2 when the Tigers face the University of Rochester at the Louis Alexander Palestra at 7 p.m.
