SCRANTON, PA – The RIT wrestling team went 2-2 at the Electric City Duals hosted by the University of Scranton on Saturday. RIT opened the day with resounding wins over Lackawanna College and Temple College before falling to Oneonta State and host Scranton.
 
Twelve different grapplers won at least one match for the Tigers. Freshman Kaidon Winters won all four of his matches at 157 lbs., including three by pin to lead the Tigers, while classmate Alex Prunoske went 3-0 at 125 lbs. Joe Lupisella (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) went 3-1 at 174 lbs., while Alex Rawlings (133 lbs.), Shane Murphy (141 lbs.), Colby Hall (Deposit, NY/Deposit) (165 lbs.), Trevor Snow (184 lbs.) and Matt Cicco (197 lbs.) won a pair of matches on the day.
 
Against Lackawanna, Andrew Flanagan (Holley, NY/Holley) and Alex Rawlings got RIT off on the right track with consecutive pins. Shane Murphy earned a win by major decision, while Cole Murphy (Syracuse, NY/Westhill) picked up a win by decision. Winters added his first pin of the day in 16 seconds, while Adam Green, Lupisella, Snow and Cicco also picked up wins, as RIT rolled to a 38-3 victory.
 
Prunoske and Winters earned wins by pin over Temple, while Hall and Lupisella earned wins by major decision, as RIT cruised to a 35-6 win.
 
Against Oneonta, the Tigers and Red Dragons were locked in a close battle, 14-12, before Oneonta won the last four matches to pull away, 31-12. Winters picked up his third pin of the day, while Prunoske and Hall added wins.
 
The Tigers led 14-12 against Scranton after a major decision win by Lupisella before Scranton won the last three bouts to take the match, 25-14. Prunoske and Rawlings gave RIT an early 6-0 lead, while Winters picked up his fourth win of the day, this time by major decision.
 
RIT is back in action next Sunday, Nov. 19 at the New York State Championships hosted by Cornell University.
