In a scoreless first half, RIT had its share of scoring chances.
Scott Fishel (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) had a chance early in the half when he elevated in the Potsdam box. His header was placed for the bottom corner, but was saved off the line by a Bears defender. Geyer had a chance with about 10:20 to play in the half when his header off a service from Shipley slipped just wide of the post.
Potsdam took the lead in the 52nd minute off a Brandon Laurin goal. He converted a bicycle-kick off an assist from Patrick Mylod to give the Bears a lead.
The Tigers tied the game five minutes later on Geyer's first goal of the season. Shipley had the assist on the play on his throw into the box. Geyer got a head to the ball and was able to steer the shot into the net.
RIT had its share of chances in the second half, but could not capitalize. Laurin scored the eventual game winner in the 78th minute. Cinibulk appeared to make the initial save, but the rebound caromed into the net.
The Tigers put the Potsdam defense under pressure trying to get a second goal, but the Bears stood tough.
