ROCHESTER, NY – The No. 2 RIT (11-0, 4-0 Liberty League) men's lacrosse team defeated Skidmore College (5-6, 1-2 Liberty League) 15-4 in Liberty League action from RIT's Turf Field Saturday afternoon. With the win the Tigers have now won 51 straight regular season games dating back to the 2013 season.
RIT led 6-0 after the first quarter, and 9-1 at halftime. The Tigers extended their lead to 12-2 after the third quarter, and out-scored the Thoroughbreds 3-2 in the fourth quarter to go on to the 11-goal win.
Ryan Lee (Sharon, Ontario/The Hill Academy) tied a career high with eight points on four goals and four assists. 
Chad Levick (Newmarket, Ontario/The Hill Academy) added four goals, while 
Alec Sulesky (Medina, OH/Medina) scored a pair of goals. 
Josh Harris (St. Catharines, Ontario/Sir Winston Churchill), 
Jay Vakiener (Fairport, NY/Fairport), 
Alex Bodin (Coquitlam, British Columbia/Dr. Charles Best) and 
Alec Sovocool (Homer, NY/Homer) all scored a goal.
RIT held a 46-26 shot advantage, and won the ground ball battle 40-32. The Tigers won 14-of-23 face-offs and went 18-of-19 on clearing attempts. RIT held Skidmore to 14-of-23 on clearing attempts and caused 16 turnovers.
Steven Ricci (Rochester, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) won 5-of-12 draws, grabbing two ground balls. 
Brandon Buscaglia (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster) won 4-of-6 draws, while 
Anthony Contento (Homer, NY/Homer), and both 
Sam Weinger (Blooming Grove, NY/WashingtonVille) went 2-for-2 at the face-off "X". 
Matt Hossack (Port Perry, Ontario/Port Perry), 
Patrick Hannigan (Hanover, MA/Hanover), 
Jakob Krzyston (Bedford, NH/Bishop Guertin) and 
Alec Sulesky (Medina, OH/Medina) each caused two turnovers, while seven different Tigers had three ground balls. 
Jarryd Lee (Melbourne, Australia/St. Leonards) got the start in net, making six saves in 47 minutes of action, improving to 6-0 on the season. 
Jon Berg (Chester, NJ/Mendham) played nine minutes and made two saves, while 
Michael Sztorc (Pawlet, VT/Burr & Burton Academy) played the final 3:28 and made two saves.
Jack Curry, R.J. Caruso, Cody Legeza and Brendan Halloran each scored a goal for the Thoroughbreds, and Kevin Mulvey had an assist. Chris Baughan took the loss in net, despite making 17 saves.
RIT took control from the opening quarter, out scoring the Thoroughbreds 6-0. Levick and Sulesky each scored two of RIT's first six goals, while Lee and Harris each scored. Harris scored on a nice give-and-go with fellow defenseman, 
Trevor Smyth (Orangeville, Ontario/The Kiski School).
Lee and Sovocool extended the RIT lead to 8-0, tallying the first two goals of the second quarter. Caruso got Skidmore on the scoreboard on his goal with 3:52 to play in the opening half. Lee scored off an assist from 
Kyle Sterzin (Fairport, NY/Fairport) with 19 seconds to play to give the Tigers a 9-1 lead at the half.
Vakiener opened the second half scoring on his 12th
 goal of the season off a feed from Lee at the 13:51 mark of the third quarter. Legeza tallied Skidmore's second goal at the 11:36 mark of the quarter, to cut the RIT lead to 10-2.
Levick and Lee each scored late in the third quarter to extend the RIT lead to 12-2. Levick and 
Alex Bodin (Coquitlam, British Columbia/Dr. Charles Best) each scored to open the fourth quarter. Brendan Halloran and Jack Curry scored consecutive goals. 
John Hill (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) scored with three minutes to play to make it a 15-4 final.
The Tigers are now 5-0 all time versus Skidmore.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, April 16 when they face Union College at 12 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
