VERONA, NY – The RIT women's tennis team (4-10, 1-5 Liberty League) dropped a 7-2 decision on the road to Union (7-5, 1-3 Liberty League), at Turning Stone Casino on Sunday morning.
Amelia Ying (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) and
Jessica Coombs (Dansville, NY/Dansville) picked up victories for the Tigers, both in singles play. Ying triumphed in her first singles match against Union's Natalia Pronchick in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3. Coombs picked up her second collegiate victory at sixth singles, shutting out Lisa Hladik 8-0.
The Dutchwomen swept in doubles play, and took four out of six singles matches to get their fifth straight victory on the season.
RIT will play in its third match in four days, taking on local foe Rochester on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Gordon Field House.
