GENEVA, NY – The RIT women's tennis team (2-6) dropped its fourth straight decision, on the road against Ithaca College (12-2), 9-0 in the Bristol Field House at William Smith College on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers were swept in doubles play to begin the contest. In the final doubles match, the team of Marie Jubert (Fairport, NY/Fairport) and Kelsie Redburn (Byram, NJ/Pope John XXIII) fought hard, but fell to Ithaca's Sydney Greenspan and Maddie Overholt, 8-6. At fifth singles, Maddy Price (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) took the first set over Jodi Grosberg, 6-4, but dropped a 6-1 decision in the second set. Grosberg pulled away in the final set, winning 4-6, 6-1, (10-5).
The Tigers will continue play on Saturday, March 12, when they take on Division II Daemen College at 6 p.m.
