ROCHESTER, NY – The No. 2 seed RIT women's basketball team (20-6) hosted and won its first ever postseason game Wednesday evening, defeating No. 3 seed Union College (17-8) by a score of 68-64 in the Liberty League Semifinal from Clark Gym. It is the first time RIT has reached 20 wins in program history. RIT will travel to top-seed Clarkson University Saturday for the Liberty League Championship. The winner of the league title will receive an automatic berth into the 2016 NCAA Division III Tournament.

Glaz finished with five assistsm five steals, and four rebounds, while Okada added four assists. Julia Bender (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) led the Tigers with six rebounds.

"We had players step up and making plays tonight," said RIT head coach Amy Reed. "I think the strategy at this point is that it's about us. We need to play together and play to our strengths, do what we do well. When we do that and play together we are fun to watch. I'm looking to see if we can put 40 minutes together and play to our potential."

Erin Lyons led Union with 14 points, while Abby Katz added 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Dutchwomen who shot 45.5 percent from the floor.

RIT trailed by five early in the first quarter on a layup by Katz off an assist from Natalie Leone at the 6:20 mark. A Tara Lynch (Green Township, NJ/Newton) layup with 3:19 to play cut the Dutchwomen lead to 12-11. Lynch scored on a nice feed from Okada in the lane, laying the ball in for the Tigers.

RIT won the season series between the two schools, 2-1. Union now leads the all-time series, 12-8. Saturday's game time will be determined on Thursday. Information will be posted on www.ritathletics.com.
