ROCHESTER, NY -- Sophomore
Tara Lynch (Green Township, NJ/Newton) of the RIT women's basketball team, was named Liberty League Performer of the Week on Monday, for the week ending Dec. 11, 2016. It is Lynch's second straight weekly honor and seventh of her collegiate career.
Lynch tied her career-high with 33 points in a 68-52 win over Buffalo State on Tuesday. She shot 15-of-19 from floor, and had two steals, two rebounds, and an assist. It was the second straight game Lynch scored 33 points. Lynch's career-high was just two points shy of the school record of 35 points in a game. Lynch leads RIT in scoring, averaging 18.4 points per game and is shooting 57.1 percent from the floor.
RIT, 7-0 on the season, is off to its best start in program history. The Tigers return to action on Friday, Dec. 30 at Rensselaer at 6 p.m.
