SCHENECTADY, NY -- The RIT (4-5-3, 1-2-1 Liberty League) men's soccer team was defeated 2-0 at Union College (8-2-1, 2-0-2 Liberty League) in Liberty League action Saturday afternoon. The loss dropped the Tigers into a tie for sixth in the league standings. Just three points separate the second through eighth place teams.
Shots were 16-8 in favor of of Union. RIT took two corner kicks to six for the Dutchmen.
Peter Cinibulk (Bellbrook, OH/Bellbrook) took the loss in net for RIT, making eight saves. Jonathan Graziosi got the win for Union making five saves.
Ethan Strauss gave Union a 1-0 lead on his goal in the 33rd minute. The Dutchmen made it 2-0 on a goal from Vincent Oliveto in the 47th minute off an assist from Strauss.
RIT returns to action on Friday, October when they face Vassar College at 4 p.m. in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
