ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY -- The RIT (4-7-3, 1-4-1 Liberty League) men's soccer team was defeated 2-0 at Bard College (6-5-3, 1-4-0 Liberty League) on Saturday afternoon in Liberty League action.
Shots were 17-7 in favor of RIT, who fired seven shots on net.
Ahmed Alrefaei (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia/Al-Alhli) led the Tigers with three shots on target, while
Mike Reverdatto (Bethlehem, NY/Bethlehem),
Dean Kouroupas (Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield),
Ben Frenett (Spencerport, NY/Allendale Columbia), and
Anthony DeFeo (Rochester, NY /Hilton) each fired a shot on net. Taylor Bond got the win in net for Bard, making seven saves.
Peter Cinibulk (Bellbrook, OH/Bellbrook) took the loss for RIT, making two saves.
Bard would score twice in a span of two minutes.
After a scoreless first half, Bard took the lead in the 78th minute when Antonio Scanni scored off a corner kick from John Flynn. Mark Mannara gave the Raptors a 2-0 lead on his goal off an assist from Flynn in the 80th minute.
RIT returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 22 when they host St. Lawrence University at 3 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
