ROCHESTER, NY - Freshman forward Kendall Cornine (Kinnelon, NJ/Morristown Beard) of the RIT women's hockey team was named the College Hockey America Rookie of the Week on Monday, for the week ending Jan. 10, 2016. It is Cornine's third weekly honor of the season.

Cornine scored both RIT goals in a pair of losses at Providence over the weekend. On Friday, she scored late in the third period to break up the shutout in a 5-1 loss and tallied 14 seconds into the second period to give RIT a 1-0 lead in a 3-1 loss on Saturday. She has four goals and four assists in 22 games this season.

RIT returns home this weekend to play a pair of games against CHA foe Penn State University at the Gene Polisseni Center. Friday's game starts at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday's gets underway at 3:05 p.m.
