ROCHESTER, NY – University of Rochester's Michael Sergeant scored in the 90th minute to give the Yellow Jackets a 3-2 win over RIT in the 4th Annual Hillside Community Shield on the campus of RIT Saturday afternoon. The Shield is a fundraiser aimed at supporting the youth and families served by The Hillside Families of Agencies through the game of soccer. RIT is 0-3-1 in four Hillside Community Shield contests against Rochester.
Akram Meza (Troy, NY/Troy) and 
Gene Sicoli (Commack, NY/Commack) each scored for the Tigers who fired 12 shots to 18 for the Yellow Jackets. Sicoli also added an assist. Rochester took 15 corner kicks to six for the Tigers. Buck Tyler and Alessandro Incerto also scored for Rochester. Redd Brown picked up the win in net for the Yellow Jackets, making two saves. 
Chris Dill (East Setauket, NY/Ward Melville) took the loss for RIT, making eight saves.
Tyler gave Rochester a 1-0 lead on his goal in the 22nd
 minute. He hit a low shot from 25 yards out off of a deflection on a Rochester corner kick.
That goal held up until the 61st minute when 
Akram Meza (Troy, NY/Troy) tallied his second goal of the season off an assist from Sicoli. Sicoli slotted a pass to Meza who was making a run down the middle. Meza fired a shot that beat Brown between the legs, tying the score at 1-1.
A minute later, Sicoli struck from long range to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead. He gathered down a ball at the top of the Rochester penalty box and fired a shot into the top left corner giving RIT its first lead of the game.
That score held until the 79th minute when Incerto scored off a free kick. Brendan Kelly got the assist on the play as Incerto headed in a shot off Kelly's service.
It looked as if the game was headed for extra time, but off a corner kick with time running out, Sargeant scored off a scramble in front of the RIT net. He gathered and sent a shot home with 28 seconds to play to break the 2-2 deadlock.
RIT returns to action on Wednesday, September 22 when the Tigers face cross-town rival, Nazareth College at 4 p.m. in Pittsford, N.Y.
