ROCHESTER, NY – Outfielder Will Gorman (Nassau, NY/Columbia), who recently completed his sophomore season with the RIT baseball team, continued his torrid hitting through the summer, setting a single-season franchise mark in home runs for the Newark Pilots, member of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL).

Gorman finished his season with five home runs for Newark, breaking a six-way tie for the team record. In the sixth inning of the season finale on July 30, he took a 1-0 pitch deep to right-center for the record-breaking shot.

Gorman finished the summer for Newark batting .305, leading the Pilots in OPS (.979), slugging percentage (.611), and tied for the lead with four triples in only 33 games.

This past season, Gorman, an ABCA/Rawlings All-New York Region, D3Baseball.com All-New York Region, and All-Liberty League first team pick, enjoyed one of the finest offensive seasons in program history for the Tigers. He smashed a team record with 46 runs batted in, while slugging seven home runs, one shy of the school mark, set 35 years ago.

In addition, he led the Tigers with a .363 batting average, .476 on-base percentage, .637 slugging percentage, 49 hits, eight doubles, four triples, and 86 total bases (third most in one season all-time at RIT), while drawing 27 walks, tied for third most at RIT.

Gorman was named to the 2015 Liberty League Championship All-Tournament Team for the Tigers, who finished the season with a 23-15 record.
