CLEVELAND, OH -- The RIT wrestling team (7-11) went 1-1 on Saturday at the Si Ostrach Meet hosted by Case Western Reserve. The Tigers lost their first match to Thiel, 32-18 and rebounded with a 33-18 win over Case Western Reserve in the final match of the day. Brad Mayville (Marion, NY/Wayne), Nicholas Greenquist (Spring Lake, NJ/St. Rose), Tory Cain (Ontario, NY/Wayne) and Sam Weinger (Blooming Grove, NY/Washingtonville) each went 2-0 in the day for the Tigers.

The Tigers fell behind Thiel, 18-0 after forfeits in the first three weight classes. RIT rebounded winning four of the next seven matches to make it close. Mayville, Greenquist, Cain, and Weinger picked up win for the Tigers. Mayville defeated Nick Hart at 149 lbs. with a technical fall (19-2) at 4:54, while Greenquist defeated Brandon Collins, 7-4. Cain defeated Jordan Smith at 174 lbs. with a 14-1 major decision. Weinger defeated Eli Swain at 285 lbs. with pinfall at 3:57.

Versus Case Western Reserve, the Tigers trailed 18-0 after the first three matches, but swept the final six bouts to earn the win. Mayville defeated Connor Gordon with a pinfall at 2:09. Mayville finished the regular season with a 23-4 record and 10 pinfall wins. Greenquist downed Nate Tommas with a technical fall (18-2) at 3:54. Cain defeated Nick Lees with a 9-1 major decision, and Fisk picked up a forfeit win at 184 lbs. Jake Swearingen (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) picked up a 7-5 win in overtime over Ryan Berg at 197 lbs. Weinger finished his day with a 4-2 decision over Nate Lewis.

RIT returns to action on March 1 when the Tigers participate in the NCAA Regional Championship hosted by Messiah College in Grantham, Pa.
